(LEADVILLE) — Leadville is packed with plenty of opportunities to unplug, take it slow, and enjoy all Colorado has to offer.
Although they are known for the Continental Divide trail running through it that attracts hikers from around the world, they also have shorter hikes with the same one-of-a-kind views.
If you are not looking to put in the work of a hike but still want the views, they also have a train you can take all year round.
The Tourism Economic Development Director for Visit Leadville- Twin Lakes, Adam Ducharme, told FOX21, “In the summer, the railroad has wildflower and barbecue trains, and then in the fall, they have their fall foliage train…. Then in the winter, they actually do a winter wonderland or Polar Express Train.”
The Mountain Town also has lakes that you can boat, fish, paddleboard, and even enjoy the beaches that most people do not know are hidden in Colorado.
You can also slow down and eat or shop on Harrison Avenue, the main street of the Historic Downtown.
“Harrison Avenue only has independent business owners on it.” Ducharme said, “So there are no formula businesses on Harrison Avenue. You will not see a Starbucks on Harrison Avenue.”
With Plenty more to do that will help you slow down Leadville offers a moment to remember for everyone.
Ducharme added, “If you can slow down and stay a while, you will actually have a much better experience.”
