(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Pikes Peak Region is celebrating Small Business Week now through May 10. Shakanah Tedder, Small Business Development Administrator for the City of Colorado Springs, joined FOX21 Morning News on Thursday, May 8, to talk about the resources available for small businesses in the area.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our community, that’s what makes it fun to be in Colorado Springs,” said Tedder.
Tedder said the City offers all kinds of resources for those running or looking to start a small business, like the City of Colorado Springs’ Economic Development Department. “We have access to roadmaps to help you along the way if you don’t know where to start. We also partner with a lot of our community resource partners to assist in any of those questions, that one-on-one connection, and things that they need along the way.”
Tedder said the best way to support small businesses is to be active in your small business community and shop local whenever possible.
