(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs Utilities (Springs Utilities) is looking for public input on the North Slope Recreation Area (NSRA), a popular visitor destination on Pikes Peak.
In collaboration with Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain and other stakeholders, Springs Utilities is conducting a comprehensive review, with a specific look at recreational impacts to the watershed and three drinking water reservoirs within the NSRA that are owned and operated by the utility.
Recreationists and the public are asked to provide their input through an in-person meeting or through a webinar.
An in-person meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Conservation and Environmental Center at 2855 Mesa Road in Colorado Springs. Another meeting will take place online on Thursday, June 12, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Individuals can register online.
A survey can also be found via the link above. Any recommended operational or policy changes resulting from the review will be presented to the Utilities Board and City Council for consideration and adoption in late 2025 or early 2026.
