(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) arrested a 31-year-old man who allegedly stabbed and injured another person.
At around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, EPSO received a report of a stabbing in the parking lot of a business at 6400 Omaha Boulevard, near Powers Boulevard, in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood.
Deputies and on-call investigators responded immediately. A victim was found and treated by first responders at the scene before being taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives conducted interviews and gathered evidence at multiple locations, during which witnesses identified 31-year-old Adrian Espinoza. He was arrested for First-Degree Assault and Aggravated Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim.
“I want to personally thank the deputies, investigators, and support staff who responded with speed, professionalism, and determination,” said Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Their quick actions led to the safe arrest of a dangerous suspect and helped bring justice to the victim. This is a testament to the unwavering dedication of the men and women of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.”
Espinoza was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Saturday, Aug. 2, with a bond set at $25,000.
