(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Two suspects surrendered to police and a shelter-in-place order was lifted after a brief standoff ensued in eastern Colorado Springs on Thursday, Feb. 8.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were called to the area of Longfellow Drive and Channing Place, north of the intersection of South Murrary Boulevard and Aiport Road, on reports of a suspicious vehicle.
When CSPD arrived, officers tried to contact the driver and another person inside the vehicle, who allegedly did not comply or follow lawful commands given by officers. A CSPD sergeant on the scene told our crew that the driver also hit a police cruiser before a brief standoff ensued.
A short time later, according to police, the driver and passenger surrendered without incident.
