(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — According to the Teller County Sheriff’s Office, a smoke alert was sent out in the nighttime hours of Friday, August 2 in the Dome Rock area, northwest of Cripple Creek.
When ground crews got to the scene, smoke and flames were visible. Two helicopter bucket drops have occurred, and as of 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, there are no active flames, though fire crews remain on scene as a precautionary measure.
