The Kilwins in University Village is officially open!

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The University Village shopping center just got a whole lot sweeter with the opening of Kilwins Colorado Springs. This chocolate, fudge, and ice cream shop offers the very best hand-crafted treats made in their kitchen from premium ingredients and original recipes.

They will celebrate their Grand Opening this weekend, from Friday, May 17, to Sunday, May 19. FOX21’s Krista Witiak previews the upcoming celebrations with General Manager Eddie Ainsworth.

In 1947, Don and Katy Kilwins opened their first Kilwins in Petoskey, Michigan. Today, there are over 150 franchisee stores in 26 states, and Colorado Springs is proud to be home to one of them.

“It is simply the best. The first time I had it was in New Orleans and it blew me away. It is one of the reasons we decided to bring Kilwins to Colorado Springs,” Eddie Ainsworth said. “But don’t just take my word for it—come on out and try it for yourself. We offer samples of all 32 flavors we carry.”

The festivities will commence at 4:45 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in partnership with the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. Live Entertainment will follow this from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be giveaway prizes every hour, including FREE fudge and FREE ice cream for a year.
