(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Q, a venture by the owners of Club Q, will open on Friday night, March 29, inside the Satellite Hotel.
Construction was underway in March inside the new space near Airport Road, at the end of the first floor in the C wing of the Satellite Hotel. Following the tragic events at Club Q in November 2022, this dedicated space aimed to continue its mission of serving as a safe and affirming place for all.
“The goal of the Q is to provide something that currently is not existent in the city,” Co-Founder of The Q, Michael Anderson, said in an interview with FOX21 earlier in March. “Club Q shut down after the horrific attack on November 19th, 2022, and then last December, Icons shut down. Right now, we are left with a lot of queer affirming spaces, but we don’t have any space really for LGBTQ people to gather in a space meant for them.”
The Q made the announcement on Facebook that the space would be open at 6 p.m. on Friday for a public preview. A temporary, limited food menu will be available.
The Satellite Hotel is located at 411 Lakewood Circle.
