(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said three suspects have been arrested for their alleged connection to a shooting that happened on the evening of Sunday, May 11.
According to EPSO, on Sunday, May 11, a little after 8 p.m., EPSO received multiple 911 calls about a shooting at the Hampton Village Apartments in the Stratmoor Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County. Witnesses described to deputies an argument between several men outside the complex, followed by the sound of gunshots.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives from EPSO identified three suspects in connection with the shooting. 38-year-old Nicholas Madrid Sr., 24-year-old Isaiah Marquez-Lobato, and a minor boy were arrested.
EPSO said all three are facing charges of Attempted First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Assault. Madrid and Marquez-Lobato were booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
