Goodwill says when you thrift your decor and costumes you can actually save about half the cost compared to the price a packaged costume.
The Pueblo location doesn’t mess around when it comes to celebrating Halloween. They’re staff has been dressing up in costumes to inspire their shoppers.
Not only can you save money on your costume you can also get a higher quality costume. Goodwill says that the pieces you use for your costume more often than not outdo the polyester fabric material found at big stores. Some can even be used in your day to day outfits.
Thrifting your Halloween Costume can also help the environment. About 83% of Halloween costumes end up in landfills. By thrifting you can help keep costumes out of landfills and prevent plastics that takes centuries to decompose from being thrown away.
According to Goodwill of Colorado Brand manager Stephanie Bell, Goodwill of Colorado diverted 190M lbs of donated items out of landfills.
Goodwill of Colorado also gives back to the community. 90 cents of every dollar Goodwill receives goes to support their mission: hiring justice-impacted individuals, and, providing free job training and placement services to more than 43,000 Coloradans last year alone.
