(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An experience described as both ‘timeless and contemporary,’ the newly reimagined space of The Broadmoor’s Penrose Room has reopened for guests to enjoy.
The Penrose Room, which showcases panoramic views of Cheyenne Mountain, is located at the top of The Broadmoor’s South Tower. With the reopening comes several new features, including The Penrose Room Lounge, a whiskey room, and a speakeasy called The Polo Club at The Penrose Room.
Jack Damioli, President & CEO of The Broadmoor, said the legendary restaurant’s reopening, “…honors the spirit of Spencer and Julie Penrose while inviting a new generation of guests to discover the elegance and artistry that define The Broadmoor.”
According to The Broadmoor, the fully reconceptualized space was designed by global interior design firm Tihany Design, “…known for their integrated design approach and luxury interiors.”
Leading The Penrose Room are Executive Chef Justin Miller, General Manager Joseph Freyre, and Chef de Cuisine Bethany Fahey. Guests can expect everything from tableside experiences of signature dishes to a dedicated Sushi & Raw Bar menu to standout dishes and decadent desserts to an impressive beverage program, including tableside martinis.
“The Penrose Room has long held a special place in the heart of The Broadmoor, and its reintroduction marks an exciting new chapter in our ongoing legacy of excellence,” said Damioli.
With a history as rich as its dishes, The Penrose Room first opened to guests on New Year’s Eve in 1962, becoming the first Colorado restaurant to earn a Forbes Five-Star rating in 2008. The year prior, in 2007, The Penrose Room also received the coveted AAA Five-Diamond rating.
