Trending warmer & drier entering November

Video: Oct. 29 forecast.

(COLORADO) — As we approach the end of October, it is time to turn our attention to the first part of November and what we can expect weather-wise. The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) released a new 8–14 day outlook (which is valid Nov. 6–12), and it favors above-normal temperatures across Colorado and most of the Continental United States.

At the same time, odds tilt toward below-normal precipitation as well, meaning a drier pattern looks likely heading into mid-November in terms of the likelihood of seeing rain and snow in the forecast.

To put things in perspective, Typical early-November highs in Colorado Springs range from 52–55°F, so temperatures during this period will probably trend warmer than average, or that is what is currently anticipated.

It’s important to note the CPC outlook isn’t a specific forecast, but rather a probable look at potential trends. Day-to-day conditions will still depend on local systems as we move through the period, and there have been outliers to the outlooks issued, but forecasters can use this as a tool as we are looking at longer-range forecasts and what to expect heading into a new month!
