(FREMONT COUNTY, Colo.) — Two people from Colorado Springs were arrested in Cañon City late Saturday evening, July 26, after deputies allegedly found almost 100 fentanyl pills in their car.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), deputies responded shortly after 11:15 p.m. on Saturday to a suspicious car near the intersection of Humboldt Drive and Longs Peak Lane in Cañon City. On investigation, FCSO said deputies discovered 98 fentanyl pills 7.5 grams of methamphetamine.
The two occupants of the car, 49-year-old Amy Michels and 41-year-old Jacob Heuvel, were arrested and booked into the Fremont County Detention Center on multiple charges, including:
Unlawful possession with intent to distribute schedule I/II controlled substances
Unlawful possession of schedule I/II controlled substances
Second degree introduction of contraband
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Both were released on personal recognizance bonds, FCSO said.
