Two men arrested in Pueblo trying to sell stolen tools

(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Two men were arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 12 after they were found trying to sell tools stolen from a hardware store in Florence.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), detectives were contacted on Wednesday by members of the Florence Police Department after a tip was received that two suspects were trying to sell stolen tools and were planning to meet up with a potential buyer in the parking lot of the Pueblo West Walmart.

PCSO detectives ran surveillance at the Walmart location, and located the suspect car with two men in it, later identified as 33-year-old Mario C. Beltran and 50-year-old Matthew Keleher. As detectives approached the car, PCSO said Beltran got out and ran. After a short chase, Beltran was caught and taken into custody. Keleher remained in the car and was also arrested.

PCSO said both men were arrested on outstanding warrants. Beltran was also arrested for criminal impersonation after giving detectives a false name.

PCSO added that during a routine pat down of Keleher, deputies found two grams of suspected fentanyl, and he was arrested on new charges of possession of a controlled substance. Both have been booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
