(U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.) — The U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) announced on Saturday, June 14, that due to updated security measures and procedures, all visitors are directed to use the south Gate when entering the Academy grounds.
According to USAFA, only visitors sponsored by the Athletic Department, Admissions, or other organizations will be allowed to access the Academy, and the sponsoring organization will provide a QR code to register for an installation access pass. General visitors not sponsored by an organization will not be allowed access.
All Department of Defense ID cardholders are encouraged to use the North Gate to enter. Visitors attempting to enter at the North Gate will be turned around and directed to the South Gate, according to USAFA. Employees and sponsored visitors should plan for increased security measures and longer wait times at the gates.
The portion of the Santa Fe Trail that crosses Academy grounds is closed to all personnel. The 10th Medical Group, Exchange, and Commissary will remain open to all beneficiaries.
