Veterans can soon get free transportation in Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Registration has begun for Veterans Ride Free in Pueblo, where veterans can sign up to get free transportation around the city. By following this link, all veterans can register for a Veteran Transit Pass free of cost.

The free rides begin on Jan. 1, 2025. The program includes Pueblo Transit buses and Citi-Lift transportation throughout the city. Veterans don’t have to be a resident of Pueblo to get a pass for free rides.

“Veterans Ride Free is something Pueblo Transit has wanted to offer to the Pueblo community for quite some time and with the support of the Transit Board and Mayor Graham, we are excited to publicly launch this in the new year,” said Director of Pueblo Transit, Ben Valdez. “This is just one small way to acknowledge the sacrifices our veterans have made for each of us and make their commute easier, enhance daily visits around town and ease any transportation stress without any charge.”

According to the city, people can register for a pass in person at the Pueblo Transit Center located at 123 Court St., or at the main Pueblo Transit administration office located at 350 Alan Hamel Ave. The Pueblo Transit Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
