Victims of triple homicide near Memorial Park identified

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified the three people who were found dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex near Memorial Park on Saturday, Jan. 25.

According to CSPD, officers originally responded shortly after 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 25 to a shots fired call at an apartment complex in the 800 block of South Union Boulevard, just south of Prospect Lake. When officers arrived, they found three men dead on scene.

On Jan. 27, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the three men as 20-year-old Manuel Villafan, 21-year-old Raymond Padilla, and 33-year-old Nicholas Medina. While the coroner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death, all three are being investigated as homicides.

CSPD said these mark the fourth, fifth, and sixth homicides in Colorado Springs in 2025. At the same time in 2024, there had been one homicide. As of the beginning of February, all suspects have been identified and accounted for.
