(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A bear that was found and captured wandering in a southeast Colorado Springs neighborhood on Monday, June 3, has been released back into its habitat, according to Colorado Parks & Wildlife’s (CPW) Twitter (X) page.
CPW Officer Gretchen Holschuh took this video while delivering the bear back to the woods where it will get healthier, bear-appropriate food like berries, nuts, grasses, and small animals—a much better diet than what it was likely to find in garbage cans in the Colorado Springs suburbs.
CPW also referenced the bear’s speed in the video, saying, “And if you ever think you can outrun a bear, watch this.”
