WATCH: Fallen heroes honored at Pikes Peak Region Peace Officers Memorial service

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A service to honor the fallen men and women of law enforcement who have died in the line of duty will be held on Friday morning, May 17 at the Pikes Peak Region Peace Officers Memorial.

The service will begin at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) will be adding two names to the wall this year.

Monday, May 13 marked the start of National Police Week, which began in 1962 when President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week on which May 15 falls, as National Police Week.
