(MONUMENT, Colo.) — The Monument Police Department (MPD) will have more officers on patrol looking for people driving under the influence during a weeklong surge enforcement operation.
According to MPD, from May 9 – May 19, officers will be actively patrolling for drivers under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, and other impairing substances.
MPD said locals can expect to see increased DUI patrols, especially during evening and weekend hours. The enforcement is supported by grant-funded overtime, MPD said.
Drivers are reminded to always plan a sober ride, rideshare, or call a taxi if you realize you’ve indulged too much. Community members are urged to report suspected drunk drivers immediately by calling 911.
