What you need to know about hiking the Incline this summer

(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — With summer here and people eager to get out and enjoy the many trails across the Pikes Peak Region, there are some important reminders to know before hiking up the widely popular Manitou Springs Incline.

According to the City of Colorado Springs’ Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department, operating hours for the Incline during the summer are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. In a Facebook post on Sunday, July 13, the City stressed the importance of hikers abiding by the summer hours, both for safety reasons and out of respect for neighbors who live near the Incline.

The City also reminded hikers to be prepared before heading out. “Summer temps can climb fast, just like the Incline. Bring plenty of water, wear sun protection, and know your limits.”

Reservations are also required to hike the Incline, and to learn more about that, plus parking options, click here.

“Whether it’s your first time or your 50th, planning ahead helps keep this one-of-a-kind trail safe and sustainable for everyone,” wrote the City.
