17-year-old identified as victim in S. Chelton homicide

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Wednesday, Dec. 4, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that the El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a homicide on South Chelton Road on Tuesday, Nov. 26. as a 17-year-old male.

According to CSPD, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1900 block of S. Chelton on Nov. 26, around 10:30 p.m. where they found the body of a young man with a gunshot wound.

On Nov. 27, the coroner conducted an autopsy and identified the victim. The coroner is still determining the cause and manner of death, but it is being investigated as a homicide. Due to Riley’s Law, the identity of the victim, who was a minor, will not be released.
