(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) said on Thursday, July 10, a black bear was rescued from a storm drain in the Ivywild neighborhood.
On Friday, July 11, CPW posted on social media that a male black bear was rescued from a storm drain. CPW said City of Colorado Springs Public Works brought a key for the manhole cover, CPW opened the cover, the bear climbed out, and then climbed a nearby tree.
CPW said bears typically stay in trees until darkness, when they feel safe to leave.
