Motorcycle rider and passenger identified after fatal crash on Austin Bluffs Parkway

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A motorcycle rider and passenger have been identified after a fatal crash last month. On June 30, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the driver of the motorcycle as 35-year-old Christopher Dumas and the passenger as 42-year-old Abra Munoz.

On June 29, just before 4 p.m., police were called to the 4600 Block of Austin Bluffs Parkway near Barnes Road after reports of a vehicle vs motorcycle crash.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they determined that the motorcycle rider and passenger were dead. CSPD said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.

The initial investigation showed that the vehicle was traveling north across Austin Bluffs Parkway and tried to make a left turn where a left turn is prohibited. Police said that while the vehicle was attempting to make the left turn, the motorcyclist, who was going eastbound on Austin Bluffs in the left lane, hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.

According to CSPD, these are the 22nd and 23rd traffic deaths in Colorado Springs this year; at this time last year, there were 30.
