(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) confirmed that a body was found by the water near Las Vegas Street and Royer Street southeast of downtown on Sunday, March 9.

According to CSPD, a call came in around 10:30 a.m., and when officers arrived, they found the body of a dead person near the water.

The Major Crimes Division was called to investigate and is preserving the scene until it can be determined whether suspicious circumstances were involved. The Coroner will determine the manner and cause of death.
