(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The 41st annual Colorado Springs St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the biggest parade in the city, is coming up on Saturday, March 15, starting at noon downtown.
The parade route will begin on the corner of Tejon Street and East St. Vrain Street, and will move south on Tejon to Vermijo Street.
The event will feature a 5k run before the parade, a fun run, a kids scavenger hunt, and more. The 5k starts at 10 a.m. on Tejon north of Bijou Street. It costs $40 to pre-register and $45 on race day.
The Leprechaun Fun Run starts at 11 a.m. at Acacia Park, offering a half-mile course for younger children and a full-mile course for older kids. Each runner gets a shirt and bib number with registration, which is $12 per child.
Guests can watch the parade for free from anywhere along the route, but be sure to wear your best Irish colors and shamrocks to avoid being pinched by Lenny the Leprechaun. For those who prefer to pay for prime seating at the Reviewing Stands, tickets are $50 per couple and $10 for children 14 and under.
Parking can be found in nearby parking lots and garages, and street meters will be in operation, so plan ahead.
The FOX21 Storm Squatch and some familiar faces from FOX21 will be participating in the parade, so be sure to wave hello.
