Children’s Hospital patient receives surprise light display

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A Children’s Hospital Colorado patient ambassador got a special holiday surprise on Friday, Dec. 6, when 5-year-old Beckett arrived home to find his house in Colorado Springs decorated in a wonderful light display.

Sturgeon Electric Company helped put it all together to make Beckett’s and his family’s holiday season a little brighter.

His parents say Beckett weighed just two pounds when he was born at 33 weeks, and visits to Children’s Hospital Colorado became routine as doctors tried to work through Beckett’s health challenges.

“During those long stays, It seems like there is no light at the end, but there is,” said Tasha Evans, Beckett’s mom. “And regardless of the outcome, I know that if you have a great care team, especially if you’re at Children’s, you’ll have a great group of people on your team taking care of you and supporting you in many different ways.”

Even with Beckett’s regular visits to the hospital, his positive attitude and determination have never wavered.
