Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift-Off hoping to honor legacy

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The weekend beginning Saturday, Aug. 31 will be the return of the Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift-Off in Memorial Park.

The Labor Day Lift-Off is an annual event in Colorado Springs taking place on Labor Day weekend. The event will feature weather permitting the morning balloon lift-off, and the balloon glow.

The event will also have live music, a drone light show, U.S. Air Force skydiving team Wings of Blue, aerial acrobats, and a 5k race.

The event is free to attend with tickets for balloon rides for sale along with parking passes and bus passes.

This year’s Labor Day Lift-Off will be more somber as earlier in August co-producer of the event Scott Appelman passed away. Organizers for the event vow to continue his legacy and drive the event forward with the same passion and integrity.
