(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) confirmed an officer was cited for alleged misconduct.

On Friday morning, Feb. 21, CSPD told FOX21 News that Officer Rich Hayes was cited and released on a charge of First-Degree Official Misconduct.

“These are allegations, and he has the presumption of innocence,” CSPD wrote.

According to the police department, Officer Hayes was placed on modified duty with CSPD pending the outcome of his court proceedings. CSPD said an internal investigation will begin when the legal process concludes.
