CSPD: One arrested after shots fired near business

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that a man has been arrested following a disturbance in a business on early Monday morning, Sept. 1.

Just before 2:00 a.m. on Monday, CSPD officers with the Sand Creek Division were called about a disturbance with a gunshot fired at a business on Drennan Road, near the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and Milton E. Proby Parkway.

At the scene, police learned that 44-year-old Andrew Pressland had been involved in the disturbance, and a firearm round was fired in the parking lot of the business.

According to CSPD, Pressland drove away from the area, and officers caught him in a high-risk traffic stop. CSPD arrested and booked him into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on four counts of Menacing, Unlawful Discharge, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.

CSPD reported that no one was injured by the gunfire.
