DENVER (KDVR) — Law enforcement was investigating a body found along Interstate 25 in Douglas County on Sunday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies were conducting an outdoor death investigation on southbound I-25, about a half mile north of the Larkspur exit.

The police activity was first reported at about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, and the death investigation was announced at about 1:40 p.m.

The agency asked motorists to move to the left and slow down. The department also said that it had no other details at this time.

On Saturday, the Colorado Renaissance Festival began in Larkspur, drawing a large number of motorists off of I-25 to the normally quiet area.
