Dennis, Southern Colorado’s beloved Emu, reported missing

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Known as Dennisaurus-Rex or “Dennis the Emu,” is a local celebrity around Southern Colorado, but is currently missing and his owner is trying to find him.


Emu turns heads in downtown Colorado Springs

Billie-Sue Mitchell, Dennis’ owner told FOX21 News that he took off on Thursday, June 6 during a walk and she believes he is in the area of South Powers and Grinnell Boulevards near the Amazon Distribution Center.

Dennis could be tangled and lying down in some bushes, according to Mitchell. If you see him, Mitchell said to contact the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) Animal Law Enforcement at (719) 302-8798, or the Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) non-emergency line at (719) 444-7000.
