(COLORADO SPRINGS) — America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) is featuring a few Colorado Springs local, independently-owned restaurants.
Most recently, ABR picked four local restaurants that will highlighted later in August. The national media and marketing company strives to feature the best independent restaurants in the U.S., so far, they have traveled to 28 states and published over 800 episodes highlighting local restaurants.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 21, ABR will be visiting Felipe’s 109, Porkbutt BBQ, Doug’s Breakfast and Lunch, and Cheraw’s Frontier Diner to feature their stories and highlight some of the best food on the menu.
All restaurants nominated offer an array of diverse food options. Doug’s Breakfast and Lunch offers large and reasonably priced hearty meals with a New Mexico twist in a diner-style atmosphere with a Southwestern/extraterrestrial theme. Some of their most popular dishes include enchiladas, brown butter papas, enchiladas, and burritos. While Felipe’s 109 offers authentic street food, including their famous taco burgers made up of a burger patty, with cheese in a taco shell, topped with tomato, green chili, and lettuce.
Porkbutt BBQ is a dedicated gluten-free restaurant that offers typical barbecue fare such as ribs, pulled pork, and brisket in addition to other items like fried chicken, house-made bacon, and brisket pot pies. Cheraw’s Frontier Diner offers a cozy atmosphere and popular food items like owner Dee Bryant’z special recipe cinnamon rolls and hash browns and cheese covered with homemade Colorado green chili.
All restaurants will have special food items highlighted on camera during the two days ABR will visit Colorado Springs. Restaurants featured will have their finished episode premiere date announced on their Facebook page and the episode will be on America’s Best Restaurants website.
