(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Local seafood Go Fish Food Truck announced on Thursday, Aug. 22 that it will be closing permanently in two months.
Go Fish Food Truck announced via Facebook it would be closing on Oct. 6; citing a “multitude of factors” that ultimately led the owner, Christina Voreadis, to decide to close shop.
“There is not one single factor but a multitude of factors that have led to make this decision,” said the statement. “But it really boils down to doing what is best for me.”
In Oct. 2023, Go Fish opened a brick-and-mortar location — joining the elevated food hall venue Avenue 19. However, after only five months of operations at the new locale, Voreadis decided to close. In Feb. 2024, the owner said via Facebook that the demand of operating both locations — the restaurant and the food truck — was robbing them “of their joy.”
Go Fish Food Truck has been around for five years, serving the community seafood dishes such as fish and chips, shrimp tacos, and surf and turf. For the last six weeks, it will remain in business, the food truck will be running on a shortened schedule.
Individuals can find the schedule for the last few days of Go Fish on their website on Monday, Aug. 26. Voreadis thanked customers, former business partners, other businesses, and the local food truck community via Facebook.
“I want to give a huge shoutout to my former business partner for starting this adventure with me & giving me some of the best years of my life, to my incredible staff for working so hard & giving me the opportunity to do something I really loved,” said the statement. ” To our local food truck community who has become like family & to all of the breweries, events, & other businesses we have partnered with over the years. It has been a wild ride but now it’s time for a new chapter.
As for the truck, the owner said it is listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace and is willing to discuss selling the business as a whole.
