(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — On Saturday, Oct. 5 Manitou Springs School District middle and high school student councils are organizing an inaugural 5K to support local schools.
On Saturday, at Fields Park from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., there will be the first Run, Walk, and Party in the Park the inaugural Manitou 5K. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a day of fun, fitness, and community while supporting Manitou Springs School District 14.
Participation in the event costs $38 for ages 15+ and $22 for ages 14 and under. Participants will get a free t-shirt designed by students.
The event will also have live music, waffles provided by Manitou Springs Elementary School, High school club booths, games, and more.
“We’re excited to bring the community together for a day of fun and fitness,” said Cassandra Bresnahan, Manitou 5K organizer. “This race is about celebrating everything that makes Manitou Springs special—our people, our environment, and our vibrant local culture.”
The run will be a chip-timed race by CCR Timing, whether you are a runner, walker, or there for the festivities everyone is welcome.
