Man escapes injury after truck shot at on Bonfoy

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A weapons call for service for the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) on Friday, Aug. 16, revealed that a man escaped injury when he drove away, though his truck was hit.

According to CSPD, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Bonfoy Avenue, near Platte and Union, around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, where they found numerous shell casings in the area. The victim was not at the scene when they arrived, but he returned later to report what had happened.

CSPD said that they learned the victim’s truck was shot multiple times while he was in the driver’s seat attempting to drive away. Luckily, he avoided being hit. The victim then took officers to his vehicle, a lifted Ford F-250. The investigation is still ongoing.
