The Pikes Peak region’s memorial wall was built in 2007 and offers a place to reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom. The wall honors all members of the armed forces who were stationed at one of the five area military installations, lived in El Paso or Teller County, or graduated from the Air Force Academy, and who were lost in Iraq and Afghanistan since Sept. 11, 2001. The last name added to the wall was in 2021.

“People are willing to come out, remember, and honor those that have gone before and given their all,” said CMSAF (Ret.) Bill Martin. “We always have a saying in the military, some give some and some give their all, and they’ve given their all for the defense of our country and freedom.”
