DENVER (KDVR) — While the first NFL game of the season is a few weeks away, Bo Nix has been the buzz of Broncos County after the rookie quarterback helped pull out a 27-2 win over the Green Bay Packers’ backups.
While Nix is third on the unofficial depth chart, his preseason performance not only strengthened his odds for Rookie of the Year, according to DraftKings, but his chances of starting for the Broncos as well.

Nix’s height, age and more

Nix’s college is listed as Oregon, but before that, he spent some time playing for the Auburn Tigers.
Nix’s college career
Nix finished his college career after playing two years at Oregon, and before that, three years for the Auburn Tigers.
He took advantage of a fifth year of eligibility gained from the COVID-19 pandemic to make 61 career starts, the most ever in the Football Bowl Subdivision, according to AP sports reporter David Brandt. Nix finished with 15,352 career passing yards, trailing only Houston’s Case Keenum, Hawaii’s Timmy Chang, Oklahoma’s Landry Jones and Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell. His 16,965 total yards are second behind Keenum.
After his time in college, head coach Sean Payton took Nix in the first round of the NFL draft.
Nix in a 4-year contract
As the 12th overall pick in the 2024 draft, Nix is in line for a four-year, $18.6 million contract with $10 million of that coming in the form of a signing bonus. Contracts for draft picks are predetermined by a formula tied to the salary cap, which will be $255.4 million next season.
While Nix’s football career is readily available, some things aren’t on the roster.

Sorry, single ladies, Nix is married to Izzy Nix.
Izzy posted on Instagram in April that she is “overjoyed and honored to join Broncos Country.” Since then, the couple celebrated their anniversary in Maui and bought a mansion in Colorado.
Nix now lives in Castle Pines
If you’re in the Castle Pines area, you might run into the rookie.
The Nix’s purchased a five-bed, seven-bath mansion just off The Ridge and Castle Pines North Golf Course for $4 million. The house came with a recreation room, wine room, theater, steam shower and heated floors.
Nix will be spending a lot of his time at Empower Field, as the season is just getting started.
