Missing Colorado juvenile found in Houston, suspect arrested

BELLAIRE, Texas (KIAH) — A missing juvenile from Colorado has been safely located in Houston, thanks to the swift action by the Bellaire Police Department.

Bellaire police told Nexstar’s CW39 that officers were alerted on Tuesday to be on the lookout for a suspect connected to a Colorado missing person’s case, who may be driving in their area.

Officers quickly spotted the suspect’s vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as Sergio Saloj Quiche, 23. He was arrested on unrelated charges.

Through investigative efforts by the Criminal Investigations Division and Special Response Team, authorities tracked down a Houston location where the missing juvenile out of Colorado was allegedly being held. Officers successfully recovered the juvenile and took her to the Juvenile Justice Center. She will soon be returned to Colorado.

Officials said additional charges against Quiche are pending in Colorado. On social media, Bellaire police thanked their patrol officers, CID and SRT teams for their role in the successful efforts in the case.

Bellaire, Texas is a city located in southwest Houston and is about a 16-hour drive from Denver.
