(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said the rider of a motorcycle who was killed in a crash near Interquest Parkway has been identified as 38-year-old Nicholas M. Navarino by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.
According to CSPD, on Tuesday, June 10, at around 12:30 a.m., police were called to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on North Powers Boulevard just south of Interquest Parkway. When police arrived, they found Navarino, who was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Navarino died from their injuries on Monday, June 23.
CSPD said the investigation determined Navarino was traveling north on N. Powers Blvd. at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle left the roadway on the left side and crashed along the center median.
CSPD said Navarino’s death was the 17th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2025. At this time last year, there were 27 fatalities.
