New pedestrian bridge, replacing one hit by vehicle, opens

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs said a new pedestrian bridge on 31st Street, in front of Howbert Elementary School, is now open for public use.

According to the City, the old pedestrian bridge was hit by a vehicle in 2024. The project replaced the old walkway and brought important safety and accessibility upgrades.

The City thanks the public for their patience during construction.
