(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Multiple days allowing cyclists to enjoy the beauty of Pikes Peak are now available for October.
During the chosen days, cyclists have a unique opportunity to access the Pikes Peak Highway before vehicle traffic begins. The highway opens for cyclists at 7 a.m., allowing them to enjoy a peaceful ride without any vehicles on the highway until 9 a.m. each date.
Pikes Peak Highway will be open only to cyclists on Oct. 5, 6, 12, and 13, all Saturday and Sunday dates.
“We are excited to offer this special opportunity for cyclists to enjoy Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain in a safe and serene setting,” said Skyler Rorabaugh, Manager of Pikes Peak. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of this unique event, whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a fun way to explore the mountain and enjoy the stunning views and fresh mountain air.”
Participants are reminded to ride in single file in the right lane and to wear reflective clothing with blinking lights for safety. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be available at the summit starting at 8:30 a.m. Restrooms are located along the route for riders.
