Pikes Peak Cog Railway employee remains in critical condition, suspect posts bond after alleged assault

(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — The Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD) has released an update on the assault from Saturday, Aug. 16, in the Pikes Peak Cog Railway parking lot at 515 Ruxton Avenue.

MSPD has identified Randy Blevins as the suspect who allegedly assaulted an employee of the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The victim, according to police, remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Blevins was held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on charges of Second-Degree Assault, but has been released since posting bond.

This incident is still under active investigation by the MSPD, who request anyone who saw, has information, or recorded the assault to contact El Paso County Dispatch at (719) 390-5555.

MSPD would also like to remind those reaching out with information to contact dispatch directly, and ask people not to send information through social media platforms to ensure accuracy and a timely response.
