(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating after it said officers were called downtown and found a body in the afternoon hours of Sunday, July 28.

According to CSPD, on Sunday at around 2:26 p.m., officers were called to the 00 block of West Las Vegas Street just west of South Tejon Street. When officers arrived they found an adult man dead on the scene with an apparent stab wound.

Police said a suspect was identified and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing and anyone who was a witness or has information is asked to contact CSPD at (719) 444-7000.
