Pueblo West woman sentenced to 60 days for child abuse

(PUEBLO WEST, Colo.) — A Pueblo West woman has been sentenced to 60 days in jail and four years probation for an incident in which a 5-year-old in her care was injured.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Susan Davidson pleaded guilty to Child Abuse Negligently Causing Injury and Second-Degree Assault, and was sentenced on Friday, Feb. 28 to 60 days in the Pueblo County Jail for the child abuse charges and four years probation for the assault charges.

Davidson was arrested on June 12, 2024 after a 5-year-old had to be taken to the hospital for injuries sustained while in Davidson’s care. According to PCSO, deputies who responded to the initial call found evidence of abuse, and after interviewing Davidson and other children in the home, Davidson was taken into custody.

PCSO said the other children in the home were unharmed.
