(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) reported on Monday, July 7, that Colorado Task Force 1 (CO-TF1) received the official call to activate, and seven crew members will deploy to Texas to assist with disaster recovery after the flash floods that claimed the lives of over 80 people.
According to CSFD, the team stands ready to support the community in Texas alongside many other first responders who have answered the call.
CO-TF1 will be sending a team of around 45 members. They plan to leave early Monday evening, but are still waiting to hear exactly where they are going and what the mission will be, though it is expected that they will be working in water rescue and recovery.
