(OTERO COUNTY, Colo. ) — The Otero County Sheriff’s Office reported that, along with the La Junta Police Department, deputies arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing that took place on Saturday, Aug. 2.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and officers responded after a man was found with four stab wounds in the 800 block of Nevada Avenue, near West 8th Street in La Junta. The victim was taken to the hospital and, after being treated, was in stable condition.
The Otero County Sheriff’s Office reported that after an investigation, deputies began a search for Ryanna Rangel, who was revealed to have been in a relationship with the victim.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation showed that she had a protection order against her and was prohibited from having weapons. Rangel was wanted for Criminal Attempt, Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Domestic Violence, and Violation of a Protection Order.
After an extensive search, the sheriff’s office requested the community’s help, and soon after, located and apprehended Rangel in North La Junta.
