(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has released the identity of a man who died in a motorcycle crash on North Union Boulevard and Garmish Road, near Vickers Drive, on Tuesday, Aug. 12. This was the second deadly crash that occurred at that intersection within the same week.
According to CSPD, officers responded to the scene at around 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 12 to find that a motorcyclist had hit another vehicle at the intersection. The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
The Major Crash Team took over the investigation and found that excessive speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
On Wednesday, Aug. 13, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the motorcycle rider and identified him as 41-year-old Randy Dibuono of Colorado Springs.
CSPD stated that this was the 36th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2025. At this time in 2024, there were 37 traffic fatalities.
