“Waist-deep turns”: Breckenridge snow totals

(SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo.) — Get ready to hit the road and head up to the high country as this latest snowstorm brought ski areas some much-needed pow.

Sarah McLear of Breckenridge Ski Resort joined FOX21 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister on Friday morning, Feb. 21 to talk about the latest totals and what skiers and snowboarders can expect.

“Breckenridge got over nine inches of snow since [Thursday] afternoon, 11 over at Keystone,” she said. “That’s putting us at well over four feet of snow in the last seven days alone and it is skiing amazing out here right now.”

McLear said the fresh powder is adding to an already amazing experience this season.

“I’ve been out for the last five days straight up in the High Alpine and it’s skiing absolutely incredible,” she said. “There’s definitely some waist-deep turns up there, so I’ve never seen Breck skiing quite this great.”
